What is remote care?

Remote care is a service where you can schedule online video calls with experienced carers. You can request these from your carer or your contact at Familiehulp. These meetings are planned in consultation with you and provide expert guidance and support in a convenient way.

As well as video calls with family and friends, you can send and receive messages and photos, play games and keep track of your digital calendar.

Why remote care?

  • Accessible and convenient: You schedule a video call at set times. In consultation with your carer, you can determine the length of the meeting and its content (according to your care goals). If you need another call in the meantime, you can request a video call at any time using the on-call service. You will then receive an immediate call back.
     
  • Personal connection: Despite the physical distance, you experience a personal connection because you can see each other. This fosters trust and commitment.
  • Bespoke: Remote care offers a care experience tailored to your individual needs.

For scheduled video calls, you pay the usual customer fee.

When to apply?

You can request a video call at any time if remote care proves to be the most appropriate solution for your care needs.

How does it work?

Remote care can be provided in two ways:

Method 1

To use the video calls option, you need three items:

  • A personal device with camera (computer, tablet or smartphone)
  • An iQan app
  • Internet

Method 2

Or you opt for a customised Compaan tablet. Then all you need is an internet connection. Below are the different rates of our partners.

Do you already have a digital device of your own?

Then you can get started right away via the secure iQan app. You can try out the first month for free.

A subscription for the iQan app costs €7.26/month or €72.60 a year (€6.05 a month).

Don't have a digital device?

Then Compaan's user-friendly tablet is ideal. We will personally help you set it up at home. You can try out the first 3 months for free.

Compaan tablet:

  • To hire: EUR 10.00 per month
  • To buy: EUR 299 (Wi-Fi only) or EUR 359 (Wi-Fi and 4G)

We have a limited stock of tablets that can be delivered at EUR 179.

Compaan subscription:

  • EUR 17.90 per month
  • Installation (optional): one-off cost of EUR 60 - We will then install everything and help you get started.
