On-call care assistant

You provide care and support to people who live independently with disabilities. Along with a few colleagues, you work as part of a self-organised team that is responsible for delivering tailored care every day of the week.

You answer calls and questions from residents. This may involve various care requests in support of general Activities of Daily Life (ADL).

This could also be about other on-call care requests, such as emergency calls (e.g. resident has taken a tumble), urgent requests (e.g. resident needs to go to the toilet), shorter requests (e.g. when a resident has dropped something, needs a drink).

Your regular duties include:

• helping customers with personal grooming
• preparing or warming up meals, preparing sandwiches, etc.
• assisting people at mealtimes
• helping with some household tasks such as tidying up, putting on the washing machine, etc.
• assisting people with moving around the house, such as getting out of bed and into bed, going to and from the toilet, etc.
• social support, such as active listening, helping with meaningful activities, etc.

• you hold a degree as a care assistant or equivalent
• you are sociable and have good communication skills
• you are in good physical shape and able to lift and move people
• you are trustworthy and respect your customer's privacy
• you are willing to work evenings and weekends
• you have your own transport (car or bicycle)
